Ingredients
| 3 tbsp | hummus |
| 1 | carrot |
| 1/4 | cucumber |
| 1/2 | red pepper |
Method
- Spoon the hummus into the bottom of the container.
- Cut the carrot, cucumber and pepper into sticks of about four centimetres.
- Pack the sticks upright on the hummus, close together so they stay in place.
- Close the lid and keep it in the fridge until you leave.
Dip and sticks usually means two containers. Here is the trick for one: hummus at the bottom, vegetable sticks packed upright on top of it, close together so they hold each other in place. By snack time they are ready to dip.
It fits in our 400 ml round container. Cut the sticks to about four centimetres: the container is 66 mm high including the lid, and that leaves room for the lid to close.
For children
Cucumber, carrot and pepper are the easy ones. Cut them thinner for small hands. Hummus is also a handy alternative at schools that ask for no nuts.
What steel does not do
It keeps nothing cold on its own, so on warm days a cold pack helps. And you cannot see what is inside, which some children find exciting and some find suspicious.
Food should be stored without doubt.
Good to know
- Cut sticks to about 4 cm so the lid closes.
- Best eaten the same day.
- Not insulated: use a cold pack on warm days.
